Our approach

HydroConcept is fully committed to geoscientific excellence and best practice in groundwater resources. One of our objectives is to ‘put geology back into hydrogeology’- we believe that a solid background in geosciences is vital, prior to the application of hydrogeological concepts and gaining an appropriate understanding of groundwater resources.

Our company motto ‘From Concept to Reality’ means that we work with clients through every part of the project. We will listen to understand the problem, develop the conceptual understanding, tailor the best approach, and deliver products that meet client expectations.

We take time to listen and build close relationships with clients to understand your requirements. We pride ourselves on open lines of communication, high-level service, and ability to deliver products that get results.

We will work independently, in project teams and alongside other similar-minded consultants and contractors. We are supportive of the hydrogeologist profession and will act with integrity and respect towards all within it.

All projects will be completed with accountability and transparency, high regard for personal safety, protection of property, environmental and cultural sensitive areas, and professional integrity. At all times, we will work within legislative requirements and maintain our insurance coverage.

Our strengths

HydroConcept is focused on clean water hydrogeology – meaning we don’t get involved in groundwater contamination projects. We specialise in advising and undertaking groundwater assessment and investigation at local and regional scales.

Our key strength is providing solid and robust understanding of the groundwater resource, as the basis for groundwater assessments and input into numerical models. This involves gaining a thorough appreciation of the geological setting before considering the groundwater environment.

We have a comprehensive appreciation of the State’s groundwater resources. We have experience in groundwater resources across Western Australia from sedimentary aquifers in the Perth Basin, alluvial and fractured-rock systems in the Central Pilbara to palaeochannels in the Goldfields and Murchison.

Our understanding of the Western Australian regulatory system related to groundwater development and environmental protection means that we can support clients in gaining approvals and permissions. We will work closely with regulatory bodies to determine your exact requirements and obligations, so that approvals are finalised with a minimum of fuss.

HydroConcept aims to take the mystery out of groundwater resources by making the complex seem simple – by using sound methodology, conceptual understanding, and communicating in concise language. We pride ourselves on our critical and constructive peer review; word-smithing and editing abilities to create reports that meet regulatory and client’s needs.
